Contra Costa Police arrest Delta Co-Pilot for lewd acts. A recent disturbance involving a Delta Airlines co-pilot has reignited concerns over public safety and the erosion of discipline in America’s critical institutions.
The pilot, 34-year-old Rustom Bhagwagar of Florida, was booked into the Martinez jail on five counts of oral copulation with a child under 10 years of age, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. He was being held in lieu of $5 million bail. But we he remain in custody? Although he makes enough money to bail out it is unlikely.
Media Goes Crazy with Mincing Words
Listen to the reporter who explains allegedly what passangers told her. Are these words the reporters or the passangers? I guess we will never know. The issue here are these words, “stormed, dragged” these action words cause hype and are good for sales but do we really need to hear such sillyness? What really occurred is the Contra Costa Police asked Homeland Security along with other agencies to assist them in executing a criminal warrant. That is it nothing more. What the media would like you to believe is 10 Federal Agents stormed the cockpit and dragged away the pilot making him disappear. Not true, as usual the media having that knee jerk reaction blowing stuff out of portion….begging for the story. You see it right? If, I am wrong let me know in the comments.
Contra Costa County detectives first launched an investigation in April after authorities received a report of sex crimes against a child, the sheriff’s office said. Because he was a Delta co-pilot maybe he was going to flee.
Authorities learned the suspect was an airline pilot and that he was scheduled to fly into San Francisco Saturday evening. Sheriff’s office detectives along with Department of Homeland Security personnel boarded the plane at about 9:35 p.m. and arrested Bhagwagar, the sheriff’s office said.
Delta issued the following statement Monday: “Delta has zero tolerance for unlawful conduct and will fully cooperate with law enforcement. We are appalled by reports of the charges related to the arrest and the individual in question has been suspended pending an investigation.”
